Description

Join us on November 23rd at 5:30 pm for the kickoff of our new Sunday Supper Club, “Player Piano”.
About Player Piano:
Player Piano is a supper club inspired by Euro-Italian cuisine, reimagined with the ethos of the slow food movement’s philosophy of eating locally. The desire to put away the technology grind and get back to simple, nourishing, and loving food. This project is meant to embody honest Italian-inspired cuisine paired with Hoosier hospitality.

The Kurt Vonnegut book of the same name inspires the name. The main character has a growing desire to leave automation behind and find purpose in working with their hands, even going so far as to buy a farm in the book in pursuit of simple, honest work. While the book ends with people trying to rebuild the technology that replaced them and left them without purpose, our guests will ultimately return to the frenetic, fanatical pace of contemporary society. Player Piano is that escape. Like Paul putting on his jacket and crossing the bridge to let loose with “common” people. This concept exists to find value in those who have been overlooked. It is about finding value through craft.

The supper club will start as a monthly dinner, maxing out at 36-38 people, with a desire to increase regularity to bi-monthly. Each dinner will consist of four courses: antipasto, primi, secondi con contorni, and dolce. Wine service will be a selected white and red served by the glass as “house wine”. Doing this lets us both control the offerings at an affordable price and create a sense of value and accessibility for our guests. Dinners will be reasonably priced at $75 per person, with a $20 surcharge for a glass of red and white wine, to offer a more affordable experience. Food will be served family-style, and each course will include multiple dishes that fit their place on the menu to provide variety.

Coursing:

Antipasto – appetizers

Primi – first course

Secondi with Contorni – main & sides

Dolce & Caffe – dessert & coffee

* With the structure of a family-style meal, no dietary restrictions will be accepted, but there will be courses that fit specific needs.

$75 + tax and grat (an additional wine pairing for $20 can be added on)
