There is a slow, but steady shift in the food industry’s gender imbalance and as we usher in Women in Small Business Month, we are celebrating our very own co-owner, Abbi Merriss. This month, we will be highlighting the relationships she has fostered with the powerful women in food throughout her career.

Join us for a collaboration between Jenna Unrue, owner or 4 Birds Bakery and Abbi Merriss for a dining experience celebrating the voices, talent & food of women in the food industry. This dinner will be perfectly paired with wines hand-selected by our very own sommelier, Jan Bugher, who was one of the first female sommeliers in the state.

Tickets are limited to ensure an intimate setting and conversation. This dinner will immediately follow a panel discussion featuring female industry leaders. Snag tickets to both, grab a friend who inspires you and kick-off Women in Small Business Month with a bang.

Abbi Merriss

Since Bluebeard launched in 2012, Abbi Merriss has quietly ascended the list of the best chefs in the Midwest. A James Beard Foundation-nominated chef for four consecutive years (2016-19), Abbi’s genius lay in her ability to find that elusive sweet spot where sophistication and simplicity overlap.

She blends the familiar with the unexpected, the classical with the unorthodox, the comforting mainstays of the Midwest with exotic and eclectic international flavors.

Under Abbi’s leadership, the Bluebeard kitchen has become a sort of training grounds for up-and-coming chefs. She embraces the opportunity to mentor young chefs, even when it means eventually seeing them set off on their own adventures. That spirit of generosity extends to her food, where every bite feels like an unexpected, wondrous gift

Jenna Unrue is the owner and chef of 4 Birds Bakery, home to Indy’s Maple Pecan cookie. Born in Indianapolis, Jenna has over 15 years in the culinary field with a focus on pastry arts. 4 birds has an expansive list of clients throughout central Indiana ranging from small boutique markets and coffee shops to large hotels and universities. Products include artisan cookies, pies, granola, specialty breads and more!



NOTE: The final cost of this event is $79. Your reservation fee of $59 will be applied to the final bill. There is a 24-hour cancelation policy. This is a +21 event.
