Lauren McGraw
Event & Social Media Manager
Soon after graduating from Indiana University in 2008, with a BA in Fine Arts, Lauren McGraw (then Lauren Angel), embarked on a boating journey down the Mississippi River. Accompanied by her husband, Oliver, they docked in Memphis for a short while and then continued on to New Orleans. Lauren worked at renowned restaurants around the city of New Orleans, including Emeril Lagasse's Delmonico. Lauren and Oliver returned to their home state in 2010 and laid roots in Indianapolis. With almost 17 years in the service industry, she stepped into the role as Private Event Manager at Bluebeard in October 2016.

Abbi Merriss
Abbi Merriss was born and raised in Evansville, Indiana and began her cooking career in Norfolk, Virginia in 2001 at The Ten Top Cafe and Restaurant Cora. She returned home to be closer to her family in 2005 and went to work for her mentor Greg Hardesty for 3 years at Elements Restaurant. While working at Elements she received a presidential scholarship to the Chef's Academy in 2007 and earned a degree in Baking & Pastry after completing an internship at P*Ong and working at Falai in NYC. After returning, she cooked at R Bistro and became an assistant instructor briefly at the Chef's Academy followed by a 2 ½ year reunion with Greg Hardesty at Recess. In 2012, she opened Bluebeard & Amelia’s as a co-owner & operator with her longtime friends Ed Battista, Tom & Sherry Battista and Charlie & Tiffany McIntosh. Bluebeard was named as a James Beard Best New Restaurant Award Semifinalist in 2013. Abbi has been named as a James Beard Award Semifinalist for Best Chef: Great Lakes in 2016, 2017 & 2018 and has earned many mentions in national press such as Food & Wine, Bon Appetit, Midwest Living, Business Insider, Condé Nast Traveler, & The New York Times.
Jan Bugher
FOH Manager/ Sommelier
Jan is a Certified Sommelier through the Court of Master Sommeliers and a member of the Guild of Sommeliers. She is also a Certified Specialist of Wine and member of the Society of Wine Educators. As the Front of House Manager and Beverage Director at Bluebeard, she oversees the wine list, purchases wine, assists guests with wine choices, trains staff on all wine related issues and programs, and oversees all aspects of service. Jan also teaches wine appreciation through various organizations in Central Indiana, and facilitates private wine tasting events. She holds a Beverage Management Certificate from Purdue University.

Directions and Parking

Bluebeard patrons no longer have access to the parking lot across the street, but street parking is still available. We also encourage patrons to utilize Indy's new bike share program, of which there are a couple hubs within a block of our establishment. To ease the parking situation, please consider parking throughout town, where available, and biking over.
